How to Reset the user’s Active Directory password

1.Login to the respective RDp, open Active Directory Users and Computers from the desktop.

a.If AD is not present on the desktop, navigate to Start > Administrative Tools and open Active Directory Users and Computers.

2.Search for the user’s account under the respective domain.

a.Searching by name is generally the most effective method in system. However, be sure to verify that the username matches the first part of the email address .

b.Partial searches are also effective if you cannot locate the account right away.

Password Complexity/Security Policy

Passwords MUST meet the following criteria:

  • Be between 8 and 14 characters
  • Contain an UPPERCASE, a LOWERCASE, and a NUMERIC DIGIT (0123456789) or optionally, a non-alphanumeric digit, but only the following (!@#$%^&*()-_+={}[]<>).
  • CANNOT repeat any of your previous 2 passwords.
  • CANNOT contain part of your ID or part of your name.
